How to Update a Published Agent in Kadal
Once an agent is published, you may need to modify its settings to improve its performance, update instructions, or refine prompts. Editing a published agent is necessary when:
- The agent’s responses are not accurate or require fine-tuning.
- The configured settings need adjustments, such as model selection or response type.
- The prompt or instructions require revision to enhance clarity and effectiveness.
- The expected output is inconsistent, requiring tweaks in source materials or model settings. Since published agents cannot be edited directly, they must first be unpublished, moving them back to the Draft Agents section for modifications.
Steps:
Only the creator of the agent or an admin can unpublish or delete an agent. Once unpublished, the agent can be edited before republishing if needed.
- Unpublish the Agent
- There are two ways to unpublish an agent:
- Option 1: Using the Agent Card
- Navigate to the Published section.
- Locate the agent card and click to open a drop-down menu that provides the following options:
- Delete – Removes the agent permanently.
- Unpublish – Moves the agent back to Drafts for editing.
- Click Unpublish to proceed.
- Option 2: Using the Agent Panel
- Open the published agent. In the right-hand panel, you’ll find the following options:
- Show Details – Displays the agent’s name, description, instructions, model, and version.
- Unpublish – Moves the agent back to the Draft Agents section for editing.
- Download Chat – Saves the conversation as a PDF.
- Clear Chat – Removes the chat history for a fresh testing session.
- Click Unpublish to confirm the action.
- Open the published agent. In the right-hand panel, you’ll find the following options:
- Edit the Agent in Drafts
