How to Generate Closed Captions (CC) for a Video in Kadal Content Manager
This article guides users on how to enhance accessibility for video content in Kadal Content Manager by generating closed captions (CC). Users will understand how to access CC options, upload or generate CC files, and manage these files directly within the platform. Adding closed captions improves video accessibility, making content inclusive and compliant with accessibility standards.

Log in to Kadal Content Manager.

Select the video file you want to generate closed captions for, then open and preview it. This action will open the video in a new browser tab.

In the new tab, locate the details panel on the right side of the screen. Here, you’ll find accessibility options, including the Closed Captioning (CC) settings.

Click on the vertical ellipsis (three dots) icon in the CC section to view options for adding captions:
- Upload: Select this option to upload a VVT file from your local system.
- Select from Repository: Choose an existing VVT file from the repository.
- Generate CC Text: Select this option to automatically generate CC text.

To generate CC text, click on Generate CC Text from the menu. The system will process the captions, and they will be available shortly.

Once the CC text is generated successfully, a VVT file will be attached to the video.

Users can click on the vertical ellipsis icon to view additional options:
- Download: Download the generated VVT file.
- Remove: Delete the VVT file if it is no longer needed.

All edits, including any uploaded or generated CC files, are auto-saved for the video asset.
