How to Generate Closed Captions (CC) for an Audio File in Kadal Content Manager
This article explains how to improve accessibility for audio content by generating closed captions (CC) within Kadal Content Manager. Users will learn how to access CC options, generate or upload caption files, and manage them directly on the platform. Closed captions make audio files accessible to a broader audience, ensuring inclusivity and compliance with accessibility standards.
Steps:

Log in to Kadal Content Manager.

Navigate to the audio file you want to add captions to and open its preview panel. This will launch the audio in a new tab.

In the new tab, locate the details panel on the right side of the screen. Find the Closed Captioning (CC) section.

Click on the vertical ellipsis (three dots) icon to view caption options:

Upload: Upload a
.vttfile from your local system. -
Select from Repository: Choose a pre-existing
.vttfile from the repository. -
Generate CC Text: Automatically generate captions using the platform’s AI captioning tool.

If you choose Generate CC Text, the system will begin processing. Captions will be available shortly and automatically attached to the audio file.

After generation, click the vertical ellipsis icon again to:

Download: Save the generated
.vttfile. -
Remove: Delete the current caption file if needed.

All changes are auto-saved to the audio asset, ensuring seamless caption integration.
