Kadal’s Tools feature in AI Chat gives users the flexibility to choose how LLM models respond, by using internal knowledge (via Search in Kadal) or by accessing real-time information from the internet (Web Search). Both options are configurable and appear as sliders under the Tools menu, accessible in AI Chat. Depending on your organization’s settings, you may see one or both tools available.
Note: These settings are not enabled by default. If you’d like them enabled for your tenant, please contact kadalsupport@learningmate.com.
-
Accessing Chat
- Open the document and access AI Buddy.
-
Open the Tools Menu
- At the bottom-right of the input bar, click the horizontal ellipsis (⋯) icon.
- This opens the Tools panel, where available search options are displayed.
-
Tool: Search in Kadal
- When turned on, the AI references content from your organization's Knowledge Base, which includes curated knowledge from your repository.
- If Search in Kadal is turned off, the AI will not pull context from the Knowledge Base.
- This setting does not affect the use of uploaded files, templates, or guidelines. Those continue to work normally.
-
Tool: Web Search
- When turned on, the AI can fetch information from the internet in real time to enhance responses. Web Search supplements your prompt with live web content. Responses that reference the web will include a source label or reference note.
- When turned off, AI only uses uploaded files and Knowledge Base ( only if Search in Kadal is on)
-
Submit Your Prompt
- After setting your desired tools, type your query and press Enter or click Submit.
- The AI will generate a response based on the enabled tool(s).
-
Reviewing Response
- Review the AI Buddy's response and copy it if needed.
- Like or dislike the response to provide feedback.
