Version tracking in Kadal Content Manager enables users to monitor document updates efficiently, ensuring that they're always viewing the latest version of an object. Each object (except folders) displays a version number that updates automatically whenever changes are made, making it easy to verify content freshness and review edit history.
Key Features of Version Tracking
-
Version Indicator Display
Each time you open an object in the Repository or My Folder, the current version number will be visible next to the title. This indicator automatically updates whenever a versioned change is applied, helping users stay on top of recent modifications without needing to track updates manually. This applies to all object types except folders, which do not display version numbers.
-
Automatic Version Updates
When changes are saved to an object, the version number increments automatically. This provides a clear and simple way to see that the content has been modified since the last review, ensuring that users can quickly identify whether they’re working with the most recent content.
-
Accessing Version History
For documents, a detailed version history is available, allowing users to view past changes and timelines for each revision. This feature offers insights into when and how documents were modified, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of document evolution over time. In the case of significant content changes or if a previous version is needed, this history can be an invaluable resource.
