How to Save a Document as a Template in Kadal Content Manager
This article explains how to save a document as a template in Kadal. This feature is useful when you want to reuse the structure or content of a document across multiple files without recreating it from scratch. Once saved, the document becomes a standalone template listed in the Template Gallery.
Steps:
- Open the Document
- Navigate to the document you want to save as a template. Click to open it in the editor.
- Access the More Menu
- At the top of the editor, next to the document title, click on the More (⋮) menu.
- Choose 'Save as Template'
- From the dropdown, click on Save as Template.
- Template Is Saved
- A copy of the document will be saved as a new template and added to the Document Template Gallery under Building Blocks.
Note: Future edits to the original document will not affect the template.
- Manage Your Template
- Navigate to the Building Blocks and under Document Template Gallery, you can perform the following actions:
- Preview
- Edit
- Delete
- Navigate to the Building Blocks and under Document Template Gallery, you can perform the following actions:
- Use the Template in Documents
While creating or editing a document, you can now insert this template directly to maintain consistent formatting and structure.
