How to Create a New Property in Kadal Content Manager
Properties in Kadal Content Manager are metadata elements that help structure and classify information across documents, folders, and assets. Creating well-defined properties enables better filtering, searchability, and content organization.
Steps:
- Log in to Kadal Content Manager.
Note: The Metadata Governance section is only visible to users with valid permission assigned to their user role.
- Navigate to Metadata Governance:
- In the left navigation panel, click on Metadata Governance.
- Open Metadata Library:
- Inside Metadata Governance, click on the Metadata Library option.
- Switch to Property Tab:
- The Metadata Library page has two tabs at the top: Property and Statement.
- Make sure you're on the Property tab.
- Click on + New Property:
- In the Property tab, click the + New Property button located above the list.
- Select a Property Type:
- Single List: A simple flat list for course outcomes, goals, student segments, etc.
- Text Description: An open text area for notes, details, or descriptions.
- Numeric: For numeric data like credits or ratings.
- Date and Time: For selecting calendar dates or times, including start-end dates and publication dates.
- Optionally, click on See Examples to view examples of each format.
- Enter Property Details:
- Name – Give your property a clear and unique name.
- Value – Enter a valid value based on the property type selected.
- Auto-Save and Activate:
- All changes are auto-saved as you go.
- Click Activate if the property is ready to be used.
Note: By default, the newly created property will be Inactive.
