How to Edit a Property in Kadal Content Manager
Properties in Kadal Content Manager are used to add structured metadata to documents, folders, and assets. Editing a property helps you keep metadata up to date and aligned with evolving business or academic needs.
Steps:
- Log in to Kadal Content Manager.
Note: The Metadata Governance section is only visible to users with valid permission assigned to their user role.
- Navigate to Metadata Governance:
- In the left navigation panel, click on Metadata Governance.
- Open Metadata Library:
- Inside Metadata Governance, click on the Metadata Library option.
- Switch to Property Tab:
- The Metadata Library page has two tabs at the top: Property and Statement.
- Make sure you're on the Property tab.
- Locate the Property to Edit
- Scroll through the list of properties in the Property tab. Each property is displayed with the following details:
- Property Name
- Alignment (shows how many associations the property has)
- Status (Active or Inactive)
- Last Modified
- Scroll through the list of properties in the Property tab. Each property is displayed with the following details:
- Open the Edit Menu
- Hover over the property you wish to edit.
- Click the vertical ellipsis icon (⋮) that appears on hover.
- Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
- Update the Property Details
- Name – Give your property a clear and unique name.
- Value – Enter a valid value based on the property type selected.
Note: The property type (e.g., Single List, Text Description) cannot be changed after creation.
- Auto-Save and Activate:
- All changes are auto-saved as you go.
- Click Activate if the property is ready to be used.
Note: Changes to properties will reflect across all associated documents, folders, and assets.
