How to Activate or Deactivate a Property in Kadal Content Manager
Activation status helps control which metadata properties are available for tagging documents, assets, or objects. Inactive properties remain in the library but are not shown during metadata assignment.
Steps:
- Log in to Kadal Content Manager.
Note: The Metadata Governance section is only visible to users with valid permission assigned to their user role.
- Navigate to Metadata Governance:
- In the left navigation panel, click on Metadata Governance.
- Open Metadata Library:
- Inside Metadata Governance, click on the Metadata Library option.
- Switch to Property Tab:
- The Metadata Library page has two tabs at the top: Property and Statement.
- Make sure you're on the Property tab.
- Locate the Property to Edit
- Scroll through the list of properties in the Property tab. Each property is displayed with the following details:
- Property Name
- Alignment (shows how many associations the property has)
- Status (Active or Inactive)
- Last Modified
- Scroll through the list of properties in the Property tab. Each property is displayed with the following details:
- Change the Status
- Click on the Status next to the metadata.
- This will toggle the status from Activate to Deactivate or vice versa.
- Select Activate to enable the property for use.
- Select Deactivate to make the property unavailable for new associations.
- Alternatively, users can select the property to view its details and then toggle the status from Activate to Deactivate or vice versa.
Note: Deactivating a property does not remove existing associations but prevents it from being used in new metadata entries.
