How to Create a New Statement Type in Kadal Content Manager
Statement Types in Kadal Content Manager define the structure and required fields for Statements. They serve as templates for organizing consistent, meaningful metadata that can be reused across documents, folders, and assets.
Steps:
- Log in to Kadal Content Manager.
Note: The Metadata Governance section is only visible to users with valid permission assigned to their user role.
- Navigate to Metadata Governance:
- In the left navigation panel, click on Metadata Governance.
- Open Metadata Library:
- Inside Metadata Governance, click on the Metadata Library option.
- Switch to the Statement Tab
- On the Metadata Library screen, you'll see two tabs at the top: Property and Statement.
- Click on the Statement tab.
- Click + New Statement Type
- On the left panel, where existing Statement Types are listed, click the + New Statement Type button.
- Define the Statement Type
- A new Statement Type will open in a popup, with the default name Untitled Statement Type.
- To rename the statement type, click on the title and enter the new name.
- In this pop-up, you will be able to configure the components of your new Statement Type including:
- Code: A short identifier for your statements.
- Full Statement: A clear and descriptive version of the code.
- Find and Align Metadata:
- Click this option to view a list of existing Statement Types and Properties.
- You can select and align relevant metadata to define relationships and structure.
- Add Property:
- Use this option to create a new Property if needed. It opens in a new tab.
- Once created, return and align the new property to this Statement Type.
- A new Statement Type will open in a popup, with the default name Untitled Statement Type.
Note: Code and Full Statement are mandatory fields.
- Auto-Save and View
- All changes are auto-saved as you go.
- Once created, the Statement Type appears in the left panel under the Statement tab.
- Edit or Delete Statement Types
- Hover over a Statement Type to reveal the vertical ellipsis (⋮) icon.
- Click it to Edit or Delete the type.
Note: Deletion is only allowed if the Statement Type has no Statements using it. If it is associated with another Statement Type, the delete option won't be visible.
