How to Delete a Statement Type in Kadal Content Manager
Deleting a Statement Type helps keep your metadata library clean and relevant. However, Kadal enforces safe deletion rules to prevent accidental loss of data connected to existing Statements.
Steps:
- Log in to Kadal Content Manager.
Note: The Metadata Governance section is only visible to users with valid permission assigned to their user role.
- Navigate to Metadata Governance:
- In the left navigation panel, click on Metadata Governance.
- Open Metadata Library:
- Inside Metadata Governance, click on the Metadata Library option.
- Switch to the Statement Tab
- On the Metadata Library screen, you'll see two tabs at the top: Property and Statement.
- Click on the Statement tab.
- The left pane lists all existing Statement Types, and the right pane shows the Statements under each type.
- Open the Delete Menu
- Hover over the Statement Type you wish to delete.
- Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) icon that appears.
- Select Delete from the dropdown menu.
- Check for Dependencies
- If the Statement Type is currently being used by one or more Statements, you will receive a warning, and deletion will not be allowed.
- You must remove all Statements under this type before proceeding.
- If the Statement Type is associated with another Statement Type, you will be alerted but allowed to proceed with deletion.
- If the Statement Type is currently being used by one or more Statements, you will receive a warning, and deletion will not be allowed.
- Confirm Deletion
- If there are no dependencies, you will be prompted to confirm the deletion.
- Click Delete to permanently remove the Statement Type from the system.
Note: Deletion is only allowed if the Statement Type has no Statements using it. If it is associated with another Statement Type, the delete option won't be visible.
